Project Brief
Citizens Advice West Sussex approached us for a charity website refresh – aiming to improve usability, accessibility, and design while retaining their core structure. Our strategy led approach included site structure, design updates, and full development, resulting in a more polished, user-friendly experience.
Key priorities included:
- Updating and improving online forms
- Integrating with SharePoint for better internal workflows
- Enhancing accessibility across the site
- Implementing Cookiebot for GDPR compliance
This approach gave the site a fresh look and feel while preserving familiar navigation for returning users.
It has been a real pleasure working with Molokini, from the initial meeting discussing our plans to completely revamp our website, to designs to delivery. Our entire team are thrilled with the website and we feel it really reflects who we are as a charity. The Molokini team have shown real passion with this project and it’s clearly visible in the final website. – Thank you!

Our Approach
We began the project with a focused kick-off call to define the goals and needs of the website refresh. Unlike a full rebrand, this was a strategic update aimed at improving usability, accessibility, and visual appeal while retaining the existing site structure.
Our team provided strategic support to refine wireframes and confirm the site architecture. We then designed key pages, working closely with the client through feedback and amends rounds to ensure the visuals aligned with their brand and audience needs.
Once designs were approved, we moved straight into development. Citizens Advice West Sussex were actively involved throughout, managing content population and refreshing imagery in parallel with our build process – a collaborative effort that kept the project streamlined and efficient.
Website Features
The refreshed Citizens Advice West Sussex website includes a range of improvements designed to enhance both user experience and backend functionality. A postcode and town search feature allows users to quickly find local support, while an updated homepage banner with carousel functionality enables tailored calls-to-action depending on the content displayed.
The design is clean, simple, and focused on helping users find the information they need with minimal clicks. Accessibility was a key priority, and the site structure was refined to make navigation intuitive and inclusive.
On the backend, we streamlined the CMS to ensure the Citizens Advice team can easily update content and imagery, giving them full control over their site without needing technical support.
Visuals
The new Citizens Advice West Sussex website is now live and actively serving users across the region. The refreshed design is clean, accessible, and user-focused, helping people quickly find the support they need.
Results
The response to the new Citizens Advice West Sussex website has been overwhelmingly positive. Ben Ferris, Marketing & Communications Senior Officer, and Emma Cross, CEO, have both shared encouraging feedback on the impact the refreshed site has had, not only for their internal team but also for the communities they serve.
The improvements to accessibility, navigation, and backend control have made a tangible difference, helping users find support more quickly and allowing the team to manage content with ease. We’re currently working with Ben to gather a formal testimonial, which will further highlight the value and effectiveness of the project from the client’s perspective.
