Finding the perfect Christmas present for your loved ones can be tough. And its no different when it comes to choosing the right festive gift for clients either.
Over the past 15 years, we’ve always felt it was important to send a token of appreciation and a gesture of goodwill to our valued customers at the end of the year. In that time, we’ve sent a lot of different gifts, to a lot of different businesses, in a lot of different countries!
But what do people really want for a corporate Christmas gift?
We think we might have the answer!
Last Christmas we did an experiment, and let our clients choose what they wanted from a varied wishlist. And here is what we found out.
17% of our customers selected something for their business.
In many international businesses, there are strict rules around receiving gifts, which makes selecting something that can be used towards their marketing strategy a good option. Of those who selected a free marketing service from Molokini, the most popular choice was a social media video.

A quarter of our customers chose something charitable.
It’s the season of goodwill and our clients are a generous bunch! Several of them opted for us to make a donation to a charitable cause on their behalf. We even adopted a donkey!
Again, this is a good option for customers in businesses with very strict gift policies, which includes many public sector and charity organisations.
And the winner is….
46% of our customers chose something for themselves.
From a board game to a bottle of wine. This shows that people certainly want to treat themselves with something nice, perhaps to share with their friends and family, following a year of hard work.
After what 2020 has had in store, we know times are tough for many businesses, and more uncertainty lies ahead. So, although we will be sending something to our customers, this year especially, we certainly don’t expect to see as many companies sending gifts.
However, if your business is keen to gift something to customers this festive season, it seems that a small token for their own personal enjoyment would be appreciated.

As we dive into December, the countdown to Christmas and New Year well and truly begins!
Though Covid-19 might make the festive period a little different for everyone this time, it’s business as usual for Molokini in the coming weeks. Our usual team continues to work from home providing all our usual services and support to our customers, from PR and social media, through to website development and SEO.

Over Christmas, our team will be taking a well-earned rest.
Molokini will close on Thursday 24th December 2020 and reopen on Monday 4th January – usual business hours apply.
