At IMHX 2019, Pyroban will continue its celebrations marking 50 years since the start of “Project Pyroban”.

During IMHX, the UK’s largest logistics event held at the NEC from 24 – 27 September, Pyroban experts will be discussing a range of explosion protection solutions that help manage the risk of ignition found in materials handling equipment (MHE).

“We are inviting manufacturers and users of lift trucks, warehouse equipment, scrubber driers and other industrial vehicles operating in ‘ATEX’ Zones to join the celebration,” says Rob Vesty, Sales Manager for the UK, Pyroban.  “We will also be holding a prize draw at our exhibition stand and will announce the winner on the last day of the show.”

The Pyroban project began in 1969 in the UK to provide explosion protection for industry above ground, giving birth to Zone 2 areas in conjunction with the (then) UK government HSE.

Today, Pyroban (the company) helps keep people safe in a variety of manufacturing and logistics applications where potentially explosive atmospheres may exist, including those in the food and drink, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, chemical, coatings and waste management industries, as well as the oil and gas industry.

Visitors will see working examples of Pyroban equipment including system6000 for Zone 2 areas, and Gascheka used in safe areas. Pyroban experts will also be advising users and equipment suppliers about training, service support and annual auditing of explosion proof lift trucks and the legal requirements.

“We will also have one of the original shut down valves from Project Pyroban on display at the show, given to us by ICI Wilton,” says Rob.  “The valve features the same principles as we use today in our diesel engine protection solutions.”

Pyroban equipment is fully certified to the European ATEX 2014/34/EU and other international standards and experts will be available to answer questions about explosion protection requirements at all levels.
