London based basement construction company, Knowles & Associates, is working with local family support charity, Home-Start Richmond, in support of its 20th anniversary ball, which takes place at the Richmond Hill Hotel, on Friday 6 November.
“Although Richmond is generally considered to be an affluent community, there is also a large number of vulnerable families who are less fortunate or in crisis, which Home-Start Richmond aims to help,” says Michelle Knowles, Company Director of the specialist basement and superstructure construction company.
“Home-Start relies on donations and fund-raising events like the 20th anniversary ball to help families who need it and as a local, family business, supporting local community charity projects is very important to Knowles. We are keen to give back to the community.”
The evening will include a three course meal, drinks, live music and dancing, as well as an auction and raffle. Renowned local historian and presenter, Peter Snow, will lead the auction and live music will be supplied by local function band, Groove Instinct.
The ball committee’s aim for the evening is to help Home-Start raise £20,000 to help mark twenty years of its charity work in the Borough of Richmond.
As well as supporting the charity evening through sponsorship, Knowles has donated an exclusive raffle prize of two tickets to watch an international football match at Wembley Stadium, complete with full corporate hospitality package.
Home-Start Richmond trains volunteers to help and support parents in building better lives for their children. The families and children supported by the charity are affected by issues such as post-natal depression, disability, isolation, bereavement and multiple births.
Part of leading family support charity, Home-Start UK, Home-Start Richmond offers outreach services through volunteers giving regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. Set up in 1995, the Richmond scheme serves the whole borough of Richmond upon Thames, including Barnes, Mortlake, East Sheen, Kew, Richmond, Ham, St Margarets, Twickenham, Teddington, Hampton, Hampton Hill, Hampton Wick and Whitton.
