English Wines for a White Christmas

Author : Molokini

Skip the robust reds and pop the cork on a bottle of white wine this festive season. Stopham Vineyard’s English wines are perfect for a ‘White Christmas’.
Stopham Estate Pinot Gris (£14.95)
Pinot Gris is heavier, richer white wine that holds its own alongside warming ‘Winter’ dishes, such as a Christmas dinner.  The apricot and peach notes in the Stopham Estate Pinot Gris perfectly complement meaty favourites like roast turkey, pork belly and boiled ham.  This wine is also the ideal choice for strongly flavoured side dishes, like asparagus and fennel.
Stopham Estate Pinot Blanc (£14.95)
While Pinot Blanc might seem suited to a hot Summer’s day, it actually pairs perfectly with festive fish dishes.  Enjoy the crisp acidity of this wine with smoked salmon, dressed crab or a prawn cocktail starter. Or why not ditch the turkey sandwich at teatime and try a glass of fresh and fruity Stopham Estate Pinot Blanc with some mackerel paté instead?
Stopham Estate Brut Prestige (£27.00)
English sparkling wine is the perfect tipple for adding some fizz to festive parties. With sweet baked brioche flavours alongside a citrus tang, the Stopham Estate Brut Prestige goes down a treat with salty and creamy canapés.  A glass of these bubbles alongside eggs benedict will also make for an extra special Christmas Day breakfast.
